Last-Minute Gadget Gifts That Won’t Break the Bank
For the book worm who likes to read herself to sleep or the Jack-of-All-Trades who pokes around in poorly-lit places, try the Huglight. The flexible flashlight can be wrapped around your head or neck or twisted to point at anything that needs illumination. ShowerTek Inc.’s HugLight has two flexible arms with two LED lights on each end. Normally $19, they’re now on sale for $14.95 on the company’s Web site and Amazon.”

One for the road: Holiday gifts for the traveler
“For those of us who still like printed books, I like this better than those reading lights that attach to your book, because you don’t have to keep repositioning it. It goes around your neck on a flexible arm. Two AAA batteries come with it.”

San Francisco Chronicle – HugLight Review
See what “San Francisco Chronicle” had to say about the HUGlight:
GEAR: HUGlight
“The technology for hands-free flashlights – bulky affairs that require large batteries (or a lot of small ones) and that wear like a PVC boa constrictor – advanced at, um, less than the speed of light. The HUGlight, however, operates on LED bulbs (more light, less power, less weight) and the arms are covered with foam rubber. Feather-light (6 ounces), this snake-style flashlight has four bulbs – narrow spot and wide beam on each end – allowing users a range of combinations of lighting from just two AAA batteries.
It is handy for packing in the dark (don’t ask), locating items at the bottom of bags, hiking at night and, of course, reading in bed or on the plane. At just 50 lumens, it isn’t going to be mistaken for a lighthouse, but it does the trick in close quarters.”

Has your light hugged you today?
“Anyone who has ever traveled by air, rail or boat knows that one of the best ways to keep yourself occupied during a long trip is a good book. the problem is that there is rarely enough light to keep you from squinting and giving up in frustration, particularly on night flights or in areas where there’s just simply inadequate illumination. perhaps you don’t want to bother your seatmates with your raging insomnia. maybe you don’t want to wake your bed partner with late night reading sessions. or maybe you just want to be a kid again and enjoy reading ghost stories in a dimly lit room without having to manage a flashlight (… just me? okay so i’m a little oddball …).
regardless of your motives, you need a hands-free source of illumination at some point or another in your life. well, your request has been fulfilled! introducing … the hug light! “
