About.com reviews the HUGlight
We got reviewed by Terri Mapes on About.com:
“I’m usually not into travel gadgets, but the HUGlight has come in handy for me while hiking and during a power outage in an old hotel. The HUGlight can be a practical travel gadget to carry with you.
Pros
- Practical and light-weight
- You can hang it around your neck
- Reasonable price
- Comes with batteries
Cons
- Packaging somewhat hard to cut open
- My first HUGlight didn’t work (Mfr. replaced immediately)
Description
- I like that the HUGlight’s package includes the two AAA batteries needed.
- You don’t have to have the lights on both arms on – you can switch on 1, 2, 3, or all 4 LEDs.
- Reasonable price for a practical travel gadget.
- Make the HUGlight “greener” by using rechargeable batteries.
Guide Review – HUGlight Review: Traveling with a HUGlight
The HUGlight is one of my latest travel gadgets, and I must say, a new found favorite. The HUGlight’s foam arms are flexible, so you can have both arms pointed wherever you need the light. The four LEDs are quite bright. I think the HUGlight is really nice for travelers, especially if you want to go hiking or camping in Scandinavia. It doesn’t weigh much and fits in a backpack nicely.
I like that the HUGlight’s package includes the two AAA batteries needed. Plus, you don’t have to have the lights on both arms on – for example, you can bend the HUGlight to stand up like a table lamp. Came in handy during a power outage in one of the budget hotels in Helsinki…
I haven’t found a downside to the HUGlight but make sure all LEDs on yours work – my first HUGlight had a defective arm, but MyLight sent a new one right away. And I can’t confirm the 40-hour lifespan for the batteries quite yet. MSRP is $15, and the HUGlight comes in 6 color combinations. The plastic packaging was a little hard to open.”
