On April 25, 2007, George Mathis had this to say about the Marklight:
“See the light
Still using a flashlight under the covers? This bendable MyLight Marklight bookmark nestles comfortably in the back pages of a book, and its three LEDs are bright enough to illuminate even the dark machinations of an Umberto Eco novel. The LEDs should never need replacement and the two lithium 3-volt batteries can easily be changed. A low-light setting, using just one LED, won’t disturb a sleep partner. It retails for $15-$19 at www.mylight.com and is available in various styles, including black leather and bright pastels.”

Sport Diver had this to say about the Clip light:
“Where is it written that a book light must be used only for books? Climb out of that pigeonhole with the MyLight LED Clip Light, a mini-clamp lamp that fits in your palm, pumps out a beam bright enough to make you squint, never burns out, and attaches to practically anything with a wide-opening rubberized clip.
Use it as a book light, a no-USB-port-needed keyboard light for your laptop, a map reading light in the car, and anywhere from a shelf or a hat to a tent, toolbox or music stand. It’s also useful for lighting up hard-to-see spots like sock drawers, tackle boxes, and the tangle of wires behind your desk or home entertainment center.
The cleverness is in the clamp. The jaws open a whopping 1.25″ to accommodate items of different sizes, the circular feet pivot in their sockets to handle uneven surfaces, and the spring-loaded clip mechanism closes just as tightly onto thin objects as thick ones. The feet are also rubberized to provide a non-skid, non-marking grip.
The lighting portion of the product is housed in a ping pong ball-sized case that swivels to allow the light beam to be aimed in any direction. Click once on the rubber switch on the back of the ball, and you trigger two white LEDs. Click again, and you get two red night-vision LEDs for those times when you need to see in pitch-black conditions.
The product is waterproof, shock resistant, and available in pink, blue, black, purple, green, and clear. It comes with two lithium batteries and has an average battery life of 40 hours. The LEDs never need to be replaced.”

‘MarkLight’ Illuminates the Whole Page with Extra-Wide Beam
Great Gift for Teachers, Students & Book Lovers of All Kinds
NAPA, CA (November 1, 2006) — Most booklights provide a thimbleful of light and
have to be repositioned as you move from one area of the page to another. MyLight’s
new MarkLight makes night reading easier with a bendable bookmark shape that has
three super-bright LEDs on the upper edge. Slip it between the pages of your book, bend
it so that the lighted edge curves over the book like a claw, and you get an extra-wide
beam over the entire page. The MarkLight holds its curve while you’re reading, and can
be flattened and used as a bookmark when you’re through.
The secret: a malleable metal strip embedded inside that adapts to any curvature or lack
thereof, plus special optics designed to disperse the light in the widest possible pattern.
The lighted edge can be raised or lowered to adjust the light distribution, and the light
switch offers low and high settings for a one- or three-LED night. The LEDs never need
replacement, and the matchbook-sized housing that holds them can be easily removed
and snapped back into place when the two lithium 3-volt batteries need to be changed.
The MarkLight also doubles as a laptop keyboard light (place it beneath the computer and
bend it toward the screen) and a task light for a table or workbench (bend it into a ‘C’
shape so that it stands).
The MyLight MarkLight is available in black leather, brown faux leather, blue or red
woven nylon, and several novelty prints. It measures 1.7″ wide, 9″ long and 1/16″ thick.
It sells for $14.95 in nylon and $19.95 in leather at www.mylight.com.

“MyLight intros MarkLight LED for books and laptops
MyLight today launched the MarkLight, a portable light designed to fit in unconventional locations. Originally intended for books, the MarkLight centers around a thin, malleable strip that can be slipped in between pages to be used as a bookmark as well as a reading light. Because of the even illumination provided by the three LED lamps, the MarkLight can also be used to light the keys of a laptop’s keyboard or act as a small stand-alone lamp, according to MyLight. The device lasts for up to 40 hours on two AAA batteries and comes with several different skins, including real and simulated leather, nylon, or plush cloth. Versions dressed in real leather ship today for $20; lights with the remaining covering options are $15.”
